Join Breaking the Firewall and acclaimed Trans Palestinian author, organizer, and culture worker, Mx. Yaffa, on Sunday May 17th at 12pm CT for a conversation on Irish and Palestinian Solidarity in Service to Collective Liberation (we love you, but please be more cute!)
Did you know that Irish and Palestinian solidarity and resistance have long been interconnected? This solidarity was further fortified following October 7. On Turtle Island, we've seen a wave of organizing that politicizes Irish identity and culture in service to Palestinian Liberation. This is wonderful and cute! At the same time, many of us experience Irish America as pretty broken, and this impacts how we show up in solidarity movements. Which is less cute.
Our conversation will cover topics around organizing, the politics of diaspora and identity, and building strategically towards Collective Liberation, while drawing on themes from Yaffa's new book, Be Better Broken: In Service to Liberation. Join us virtually on May 17th as we discuss the possibilities for liberation that exist inside the cracks. To support our fundraiser for Trans people impacted by genocide, purchase a ticket for this event (though no one will be turned away for lack of funds), and purchase Yaffa's new book!
